Cervical Vertebral Body Distraction System

Screw-based vertebral body distraction systems are commonly used for anterior cervical fusion and arthroplasty cases.  The LINK catalog of instruments includes various configurations, all of them manufactured to LINK's very exacting standards.  One of the unique versions of this system which is available from LINK is pictured to the left.

This cervical vertebral body distraction system has the following specially designed features:

  • The total length of the distraction screws are 90, 92, or 94 mm, depending upon the length of the screw portion (12, 14, or 16mm).  The total length is substantially longer than traditional versions
  •  The "sleeves" of the distraction device are open at the top, to accommodate the longer distraction screws
  • Arms at the top of the sleeve opening can be secured to the gnurled surfaces near the top of the distraction screws, providing greater control over disc space distraction, and reducing incidence of pin bending or splayingThese arms also help keep the distractor from "riding up" during the procedure.  See product specific information in the catalog by clicking here.

This instrument was provided as part of the PCM® tray for the cervical disc replacement study and was very highly rated by the Surgeon Investigators.  Many have begun to use it on their standard ACDF cases.
